Basketball Recap: Marshfield Falls Despite Big Games from Emma Ridgway and Hailey Klumb

Marshfield suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Stevens Point Panthers, falling 67-46. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-45 back in January.

Marshfield's loss came despite strong showings from Hailey Klumb and Emma Ridgway. Klumb posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, while Ridgway had ten points along with six boards and four steals. Marshfield is 3-1 when Klumb posts three or more steals, but 8-9 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Marshfield and nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Stevens Point, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Looking ahead, Marshfield will head out to square off against Kaukauna at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stevens Point, they will welcome Regis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
