Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Comes Up Short

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berry Wildcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-13 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kryssa Fields, who posted six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Fields is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Raley Palmer, who scored eight points and six steals.

Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Berry, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Oak Grove will venture away from home to square off against Hanceville at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Grove is facing Hanceville at the right time seeing as Hanceville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Berry, they will head out to take on Lynn at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Berry will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Lynn will have lost six straight heading into Thursday's game.
