Basketball Recap: Unadilla Valley Comes Up Short

Unadilla Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 29-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walton Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 52-30 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Walton was led to victory by Grace Walley and Kennedy Williams. Walley almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 19 boards, while Williams posted 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That's the most boards Walley has posted since back in November of 2023.

Unadilla Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Walton, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.

Unadilla Valley is taking a road trip to take on Sidney at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Sidney will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Unadilla Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walton, they will head out on the road to face off against Oxford Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Walton is facing Oxford Academy at the right time seeing as Oxford Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
