Basketball Recap: Reagan Takes a Loss

Reagan lost against East Forsyth back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Reagan Raiders lost 77-57 to the East Forsyth Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Eagles are ranked 44th).

When it comes to explaining why Reagan lost, don't look at Jayden McCrae. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-11 on his way to 20 points and eight boards. McCrae is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played. Darius France was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Reagan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for East Forsyth, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Coming up, Reagan will head out to face off against Davie at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Davie has three straight victories, Reagan has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for East Forsyth, they will host R.J. Reynolds at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in R.J. Reynolds' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
