Basketball Game Preview: Lyman Raiders vs. Burke Cougars

The Lyman Raiders will challenge the Burke Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lyman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Kimball/White Lake as Lyman made off with a 49-23 victory. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burke). They took down Marty Indian 68-49 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Lyman's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points over those games. As for Burke, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Everything came up roses for Lyman against Burke when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 70-35 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Burke's Paige Bull, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.
