Softball Recap: McQueen Comes Up Short

McQueen and Douglas squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but McQueen had to settle for second. They lost 16-1 to the Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-9 defeat last Tuesday.

McQueen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vanessa Bein, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

McQueen's defeat dropped their record down to 19-15. As for Douglas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

McQueen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Douglas, they will take on Bishop Manogue at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Miners' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
