Preview: Slater vs. Polo
Slater will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Polo at 7:00 PM. If the game is anything like the 36-53 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Slater had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Santa Fe last Friday as they made off with a 38-14 win. Slater was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, Polo couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-47 to Christ Prep Academy. Polo were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-40.
Slater's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Polo's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Slater can add another positive mark to their record or if Polo can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Slater's step.
