Softball Recap: Paris Takes a Loss

Paris and Richland County pushed the score to 16-6 the last time they played Richland County, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. Paris took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richland County. Paris hasn't had much luck with Richland County recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Leah Sanders was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Paris saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landrie Stevens, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Paris' defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Richland County, their record is now 13-8.

Coming up, Paris is taking a road trip to square off against Mt. Zion at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Richland County, they will head out to take on Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
