Basketball Recap: Peyten Reese's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dayspring Christian Academy over Flatirons Academy

Dayspring Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 37-26 to the Flatirons Academy Bison. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bison this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-27 back in February.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peyten Reese, who posted ten points and four steals. Reese has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brynnli Bryson, who earned eight points.

Dayspring Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Flatirons Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Dayspring Christian Academy and Flatirons Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Dayspring Christian Academy will face off against Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Flatirons Academy, they will host Cheraw at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Flatirons Academy's defense has only allowed 28.1 points per game this season, so Cheraw's offense will have their work cut out for them.
