Basketball Recap: Page County Gets the Win

After losing to Madison County the last time they met, Page County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Page County Panthers came out on top against the Madison County Mountaineers by a score of 51-41 on Friday.

Despite the loss, Madison County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gracie Woodward dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Woodward has scored all season. Michelle Thompson was another key player, putting up three points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Page County's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Madison County, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Page County will challenge Central Woodstock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison County, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Stonewall Jackson at 7:30 p.m.
