Brown County had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Routt Catholic Rockets, sneaking past 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won five in a row.

Brown County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-22.

Looking ahead, Brown County will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Illini West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Routt Catholic, they will be taking part in a tournament against LaSalle-Peru at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
