Softball Recap: Hereford Whitefaces vs. Canyon Eagles
Hereford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Canyon Eagles, falling 13-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.
Hereford saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malarie Enriquez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Faith Florez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Hereford's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Canyon, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9-2 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hereford will face off against rival West Plains at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Canyon is set to take on their familiar foe Perryton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
