Softball Game Preview: Maurepas Wolves vs. Albany Hornets

Maurepas is 0-5 against Albany since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Hornets at 5:30 p.m. Maurepas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Maurepas is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Denham Springs on Monday. They came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 12-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolves have suffered since March 17th.

Maurepas saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Luquette, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Albany didn't have quite enough to beat Northlake Christian on Monday and fell 4-3.

Maurepas' defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Maurepas suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Albany in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
