Basketball Recap: Parkwood Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Nehemiah Davis and Deshaun Hamrick

Parkwood lost against Monroe back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Parkwood Wolf Pack fell 57-46 to the Monroe Redhawks. While losing is never fun, the Wolf Pack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while the Redhawks are ranked 189th).

Parkwood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Deshaun Hamrick, who posted 17 points, and Nehemiah Davis, who put up 17 points. The dominant performance gave Hamrick a new career-high in points. Micah Davis was another key player, putting up eight points.

Monroe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamari Clark out in front who had 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaegan Chambers, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and six boards.

Parkwood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Monroe, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monroe beat Parkwood by a score of 60-49 on Friday.
