Football Game Preview: Colquitt County Packers vs. Grayson Rams + How To Watch

The Colquitt County Packers will take on the Grayson Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Colquitt County sitting on five straight wins and Grayson on 25 (dating back to last season).

Colquitt County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Mill Creek by a score of 35-24.

Jae Lamar produced another solid performance rushing for 162 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102.4 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Antwan Lockett, who picked up 123 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Grayson was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Norcross 44-7. Considering the Rams have won nine contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Colquitt County better keep an eye on Deuce Smith. He was instrumental in Grayson's win, throwing for 252 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in passer rating (165.2). Grayson also got help from Saif Bin-Wahad, who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.

Grayson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

One reason for the win was Grayson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Tyler Atkinson was especially locked on to Norcross' QB and sacked him twice. Atkinson is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Colquitt County's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Grayson, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.

Everything went Colquitt County's way against Grayson in their previous matchup back in September of 2019, as Colquitt County made off with a 31-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Packers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
