Basketball Recap: Jenna Brumbaugh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Milton-Union over Houston

If Milton-Union was feeling good fresh off their 51-30 takedown of Bradford last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Milton-Union Bulldogs took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Houston Wildcats. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Milton-Union lost on Monday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jenna Brumbaugh, who posted 12 points and three steals. That was a full 34.3% of Milton-Union's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Sophie Layman was another key player, putting up two points in addition to ten rebounds, seven blocks, and three steals.

Even though they lost, Milton-Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.
