Softball Game Preview: Skyline Eagles vs. Bedford Kicking Mules

Skyline is 0-5 against Bedford since May of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Kicking Mules at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Skyline's victory against Huron wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the River Rats 11-10 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the game before.

Penelope Shefferly and Mira Wroten did most of the damage at the plate: Shefferly went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Wroten went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Callie Crawford, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Skyline was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Huron only posted a batting average of .300.

Meanwhile, Bedford got the win against Flat Rock on Thursday by a conclusive 9-1.

Bedford now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Skyline, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
