League recap: Highlands scores huge upset over Franklin Regional

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Highlands, who took down 69th ranked Franklin Regional, 17-0.

Hampton moved up to 311 from 363 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in WPIAL AAA Northeastern. The Talbots were able to make move up by topping Greensburg Salem 30-9.

Knoch's dynamic duo of Daniel Farinelli and James Larrimer proved tough for Derry to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Farinelli threw for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns and Larrimer had 149 yards receiving. Cole Shinsky helped Knoch's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 52 yards.

The Knights' dynamic duo of Farinelli and Larrimer proved to be unstoppable against the Trojans, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Farinelli put up the best numbers through the air as Knoch bested Derry.

Joshua Schultheis was a beast in the backfield as Mars beat Indiana.

Schultheis was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 211 yards on 30 carries as the Fightin' Planets bested Ron Polinsky's team. Jason Lozzi also contributed to the rushing game with 58 yards on the ground.

Schultheis provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mars beat the Little Indians.

He went 8-14 with 0 interceptions.

Larrimer was the best wideout in the league this week as the Knights bested the Trojans.

Hollidaysburg's Josh Bickley and Ryan Waltz have formed a dream team this season, leading WPIAL AAA Northeastern in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Bickley has thrown for 382 yards this season, while Waltz has 9 catches for 261 yards. Schultheis from Scott D Heinauer's team leads the league in rushing with 520 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Highlands takes on second place Mars.

The Fightin' Planets' offense has recorded 115 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Golden Rams have permitted only 24 on the year.

Knoch took down Derry 58-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Farinelli in the win.
