Basketball Recap: Whitko Falls Short of Woodlan in the Playoffs

Whitko and Woodlan squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Whitko had to settle for second. They took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodlan Warriors. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Whitko lost, don't look at Riley Harman. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-13 en route to 18 points along with six boards and three steals. Harman is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last six games he's played. Easton Grable was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodlan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Yoder, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Drew Fleek, who shot 58% from the field on his way to 17 points and eight boards.

Whitko's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Woodlan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Whitko does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodlan, they will take on Adams Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Adams Central will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Woodlan surely won't give up without a fight.
