Recap: Scott's Branch Eagles vs. Carvers Bay Bears
The Scott's Branch Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 67-59 to Carvers Bay. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Scott's Branch lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordan Kind, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyren Bowman, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Carvers Bay found their leader in underclassman Kenard Heyward, who scored 22 points along with six assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Heyward has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaquan Hannah, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Scott's Branch has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Carvers Bay, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott's Branch won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Johnsonville at 7:45 p.m. on January 17th. Johnsonville comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Carvers Bay, they will head out on the road to square off against Hemingway at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
