Volleyball Recap: Laguna Creek Takes a Loss

Laguna Creek and Folsom squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Laguna Creek had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Laguna Creek lost, don't look at Justin Purba. Despite the final result, he had 20 digs and two assists. Purba is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 13 or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

Neelagreev Chintaluri was nothing short of spectacular for Folsom: he had 23 assists and 11 digs. That's the most digs Chintaluri has posted since back in March. Namish Dondapati also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Laguna Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 24-5. As for Folsom, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-9 record this season.

Laguna Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Folsom, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Oak Ridge on the 10th.
