With a playoff win on the line, Cathedral rose to the challenge on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lake Central Indians as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Fighting Irish, who have now won six matches in a row.
Owen Peterson paced Cathedral's offense, picking up 18 kills. Peterson got some help from Cael Persic and his 39 assists. Joey Whelan controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Cathedral's win bumped their record up to 22-12. As for Lake Central, with the defeat, they broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 25-3.
Cathedral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Roncalli on the 30th. Lake Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
