Baseball Preview: Creekview Mustangs vs. Lone Star Rangers

The Creekview Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Lone Star Rangers at 7:30 p.m. Creekview's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Lone Star's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Creekview and Lone Star meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. For Lone Star's part, they got a great performance from Houston Farrar as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Farrar is becoming a predictor of Lone Star's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 3-8 when he doesn't).
At the plate, James Dagenhart was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was John Madden, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Lone Star hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Creekview struck out eight times.
Creekview's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lone Star, they moved to 5-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
