Basketball Recap: Maranatha Baptist Academy Piles Up the Points Against the Cross Christian School

Maranatha Baptist Academy had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt The Cross Christian School on Thursday. The Warriors breezed past the Lions to the tune of 67-34. With the Warriors ahead 47-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Maranatha Baptist Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Thompson out in front who shot 50% from the field en route to 28 points and three steals. Those 28 points gave Thompson a new career-high. Joseph Cordova also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Maranatha Baptist Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Trent Penner and Hudson Waterman certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Penner posted eight points and five rebounds, while Waterman had four points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Clark, who put up six points.
