Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pine Forest). Their defense stepped up to hand the Escambia Gators an 8-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Pine Forest's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five matchups. As for Escambia, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Pine Forest and Pensacola Catholic will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Escambia, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
