Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Diablo vs. Acalanes

Mt. Diablo hasn't had much luck against Acalanes recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mt. Diablo Red Devils will square off against the Acalanes Dons at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Thursday, Mt. Diablo didn't have quite enough to beat Clayton Valley Charter and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 674th, while the Ugly Eagles are ranked 22nd).

Despite a strong season so far, Acalanes has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Northgate. That's two games in a row now that the Dons have lost by just one goal.

Mt. Diablo's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-2. As for Acalanes, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-1.

Mt. Diablo might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Acalanes in their previous meeting on January 8th. Can Mt. Diablo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
