Baseball Game Preview: Phoenixville Phantoms vs. Methacton Warriors

The Phoenixville Phantoms are taking a road trip to challenge the Methacton Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Phoenixville nor Methacton posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Phoenixville fell victim to Perkiomen Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-0. Phantoms fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Vikings since on Wednesday.

Phoenixville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Muntz, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Methacton entered their tilt with Spring-Ford on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Rams.

Phoenixville now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Methacton, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Phoenixville skirted past Methacton 7-6 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Phantoms since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
