Baseball Recap: Cherokee Trail Takes a Loss

If Cherokee Trail was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Smoky Hill on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherry Creek Bruins on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost six in a row.

Brody Kenshalo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. Landon Ellis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

Cherokee Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Cherry Creek, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

While Cherokee Trail had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
