Baseball Game Preview: Clyde Fliers vs. Huron Tigers

The Clyde Fliers will head out to take on the Huron Tigers at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Clyde will be strutting in after a win while Huron will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Clyde turned things around against Upper Sandusky on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rams a 3-0 shutout.

Not much got past Colt Flores, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Upper Sandusky off the board. Flores has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Clyde's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Jeffrey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Clyde hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Sandusky struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Huron suffered their closest loss since April 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Edison by a score of 7-5. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Huron's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Clyde, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Clyde skirted past Huron 7-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fliers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
