Kimora Darby commands the offense for a Warriors win

Recap: Crete-Monee Warriors vs. Thornwood Thunderbirds

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bolingbrook, the Crete-Monee Warriors were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Thornwood. For Crete-Monee, this counts as revenge for the 57-31 defeat Thornwood walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crete-Monee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kimora Darby, who scored five points along with four steals. Morgan Johnson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 19 rebounds.

Thornwood's loss came despite strong showings from Kamiya Obaroghedo and Niamraj Ballard . Obaroghedo scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Ballard scored eight points along with 11 rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for Obaroghedo.

Crete-Monee's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Thornwood, they bumped their record down to 3-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Crete-Monee and Lincoln-Way West will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Thornwood, they will take on Marist at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
