The Salem Generals will venture away from home to challenge the Warrensburg Burgers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Wednesday, Salem came up short against Granville and fell 8-5. The Generals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stephen Yakubec made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Quinten Rushinski also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Warrensburg made easy work of Argyle on Thursday and carried off a 14-3 victory. The Burgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Louis Lang made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lang was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Maris Martin was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Paul Moore was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Warrensburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Warrensburg is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Salem has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Warrensburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Salem couldn't quite get it done against Warrensburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
