Basketball Recap: Lakeside's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lakeside had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the White Hall Bulldogs as they made off with a 64-44 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-34 back in December of 2024.

Lakeside was led to victory by Payton Futch and Mckenzie Williams. Futch went 11 for 18 on her way to 27 points along with seven steals and six assists, while Williams went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points and five steals. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Futch has scored at least a third of Lakeside's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Allison, who posted nine points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Lakeside was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Lakeside is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for White Hall, they moved to 15-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Lakeside will take on Hot Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Lakeside's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Hot Springs has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road. As for White Hall, they will challenge Benton at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
