Basketball Game Preview: Houston County Lions vs. Geneva Panthers

Houston County is 0-4 against Geneva since December of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lions just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Panthers at 1:30 p.m. Houston County has given up an average of 58.8 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Houston County's tournament run continued when they took on LaFayette on Tuesday. The Lions took a blow against the Bulldogs, falling 69-21. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Geneva was able to grind out a solid win over Abbeville on Tuesday, taking the game 56-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Houston County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Geneva, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Houston County suffered a grim 73-52 defeat to Geneva in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
