Volleyball Recap: Mechanicsburg Takes a Loss

After flying high against Graham Local on Saturday, Mechanicsburg came back down to earth. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Fairbanks Panthers on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 25-14.

Alasia Critchfield paced Mechanicsburg's offense, picking up five kills. Critchfield got some help from Sydnee Hurst and her 13 assists. Avery McDowell controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Fairbanks was led to victory by Autumn Wiedmann and Stephenie Headings. Wiedmann had six aces, while Headings had five digs and one assist.

Mechanicsburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Fairbanks, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Mechanicsburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against West Liberty-Salem on the 28th. As for Fairbanks, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Triad on the 28th.
