Football Recap: St. Charles Comes Up Short

St. Charles extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They had to suffer through a 54-6 loss at the hands of the Montabella Mustangs. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 34-6 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why St. Charles lost, don't look at Elijah Alvarado. Despite the final result, he picked up 91 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Montabella, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Leading Montabella to victory were Gabriel Kauffman and Brady Kieff. Kauffman rushed for 57 yards and three TDs, while Kieff rushed for 143 yards and one score on only ten carries.

Coming up, St. Charles will look to defend their home field on Friday against Byron at 7:00 p.m. As for Montabella, they will venture away from home to square off against Potterville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
