Basketball Recap: Hoggard's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

A well-balanced attack led Hoggard over South Brunswick in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hoggard Vikings blew the South Brunswick Cougars out of the water with a 73-24 final score. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Hoggard got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hunter McGrath out in front who posted eight points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Seward, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 12 points.

McGrath wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Hoggard was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Brunswick only racked up six assists.

South Brunswick's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayden Daniels, who had eight points and seven rebounds, and Jeremiah Ellis, who earned six points and four steals.

The victory (which was Hoggard's seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for South Brunswick, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Hoggard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-65 win against Laney on the 31st. As for South Brunswick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-33 defeat against North Brunswick on the 31st.
