Softball Game Preview: Kirtland Hornets vs. Fairview Warriors

The Kirtland Hornets will take on the Fairview Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Kirtland and four for Fairview dating back to last season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Kirtland and Crestwood, and Crestwood kept the tradition alive. The Hornets fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 11-10 on Wednesday. Even if the Hornets couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Adison Fleming made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those home runs marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Seirra Godfrey, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Fairview came up short against Strongsville back in March, falling 15-2.

Kirtland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fairview, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
