Bunnell came into Monday's match looking for another win against Kolbe-Cathedral, but Angel Gomez wouldn't allow it. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs on Monday with plenty of help from Gomez, who had 31 digs and three assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 29 times he's played.

Kolbe-Cathedral had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 25-17, 27-25.

With the win, Kolbe-Cathedral broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-8. As for Bunnell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
