Basketball Game Preview: Aldine Mustangs vs. Eisenhower Eagles

Aldine is 2-8 against Eisenhower since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Aldine Mustangs will head out to face off against the Eisenhower Eagles at 12:00 p.m. Aldine will be strutting in after a victory while Eisenhower will be coming in after a loss.

Aldine will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Benjamin Davis, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Aldine walked away with a 64-51 win over Benjamin Davis on Wednesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Falcons are ranked 795th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Eisenhower was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Nimitz 78-38. The Eagles were down 60-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Aldine's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-12. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Eisenhower, their loss dropped their record down to 7-19.

Aldine was able to grind out a solid win over Eisenhower in their previous matchup on January 7th, winning 79-67. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aldine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
