Baseball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

Columbia was the 7-3 winner over Wellington when they last played one another on April 14th, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell just short of the Dukes by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered against the Dukes since May 10, 2022.

Logan Menge made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Carter Duley, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Columbia and nudges their season record down to 8-5-1. As for Wellington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Columbia and Wellington will both be playing Firelands the next time they take the field. The Dukes will host the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Raiders will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
