Softball Recap: St. Rose's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

St. Rose dropped their record down to 11-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 8-2 to the Toms River South Indians. The Purple Roses were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

As for Toms River South, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Toms River South's part, Charlotte Supino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on 11 hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Tuper, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Abbey Wilber was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.

As of now, neither St. Rose nor Toms River South have any future games scheduled.
