Basketball Recap: Cave Spring Takes a Loss

Cave Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 52-32 to the Hidden Valley Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-29 back in January.

Hidden Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Pearson out in front who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds. Pearson also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Hidden Valley is undefeated when she posts at least five steals, but 8-10 otherwise. Avery Tanis was another key player, putting up 13 points along with six boards and four steals.

Cave Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Hidden Valley, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-10.

Cave Spring wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-24 loss against Blacksburg on the 17th. As for Hidden Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-49 defeat against Salem on the 13th.
