League recap: Seton Academy's Thomas delivers best pitching performance from past week

William Thomas was the best pitcher in Chicago Catholic - Red this week, leading Seton Academy. He racked up seven strike outs this week.

First place in the league belongs to the Sting, which have compiled an 18-9 overall record to go with their 8-1 league record. St. Francis de Sales sits 4 games back in second, with a 7-8 record in league play.

Hales Franciscan boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

There were four hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was Sean Thompson, who hit .667 by going 2-for-3.



Seton Academy's Thomas led the league in strikeouts this week with seven. With 41 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks fifth in the league.
