Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Commanders vs. Lincoln Lancers

The Kennedy Commanders and the Lincoln Lancers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Kennedy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

On Thursday, Kennedy came up short against DSST: Cedar and fell 69-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Commanders still had to take the loss.

Kennedy might have lost, but man, Xavier Benavidez was a machine: he went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Quinn Padilla was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 53-39 bruising from Manual.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Kennedy skirted past Lincoln 50-48 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Kennedy repeat their success, or does Lincoln have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
