Preview: Seton Conquistadors vs. Christ Chapel Academy
The Seton Conquistadors's road trip will continue as they head out to face Christ Chapel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. One thing working in Seton's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Seton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Immanuel Christian 76-50. Given Seton's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Immanuel Christian is ranked 182nd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Christ Chapel Academy, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They fell 67-55 to King Abdullah Academy on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The losing side was boosted by David Neaves, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Moore, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Christ Chapel Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Seton's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Christ Chapel Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything went Seton's way against Christ Chapel Academy in their previous matchup back in February as Seton made off with a 59-39 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Christ Chapel Academy's Jayson White, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
