Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Valley Danes vs. Lotus School For Excellence Meteors

Two dominant guards in Nick Prantl and Noah Horra are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Fountain Valley Danes are taking a road trip to challenge the Lotus School For Excellence Meteors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Fountain Valley came up short against Pikes Peak Christian and fell 64-57. The Danes were up 26-8 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tenzin Tinley, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Prantl, who put up 15 points.

Meanwhile, Lotus School For Excellence entered their tilt with Aurora West College Prep Academy on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Spartans 72-44. The Meteors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Lotus School For Excellence is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.4 points. As for Fountain Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
