Softball Game Preview: Paradise Valley Trojans vs. Desert Edge Scorpions

The Paradise Valley Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Desert Edge Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paradise Valley has given up an average of 18.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Paradise Valley fell victim to Desert Edge and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Scorpions, falling 19-0. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Desert Edge's part, Ryann Dobbins (2025) looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Dobbins (2025) has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Desert Edge's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aliyah Fatigoni (2027), who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another was Gwen Alvarez (2026), who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Desert Edge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paradise Valley only posted a batting average of .263.

Paradise Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Desert Edge, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
