Softball Recap: Woodbridge Takes a Loss

Woodbridge has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.67 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They fell just short of the Burroughs Bears by a score of 10-8. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Payton Harris made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Audrey Song was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Woodbridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Woodbridge now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Burroughs, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Woodbridge will face off against Rosary Academy at 3:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Burroughs, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-4 defeat against El Toro on the 29th.
