Preview: Coral Gables Cavaliers vs. South Dade Buccaneers

After three games on the road, Coral Gables is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the South Dade Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Coral Gables is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Dade in Florida (Coral Gables is ranked 99th, while South Dade is ranked 558th).

Last Thursday, Coral Gables had just enough and edged Sports Leadership & Management out 46-44.

Coral Gables' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcellis Williams led the charge by scoring 15 points along with five rebounds. The match was Williams 's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Noah Berumen was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, South Dade's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to Reagan 49-43.

Coral Gables' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for South Dade, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-6 record last season and are now at 0-3.

Coral Gables might still be hurting after the 67-46 defeat they got from South Dade when the teams last played back in February. Will Coral Gables have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
