Recap: Shepherd Pirates vs. Onalaska Wildcats
The Shepherd Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 36-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Onalaska. If Shepherd was looking for revenge after losing 60-49 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Onalaska's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mary Joy Cariaga, who scored 12 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaylan Linear, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Shepherd has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Onalaska, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-13.
Shepherd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Onalaska has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Trinity is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
